Playing high quality Christian music which,
by its message, will draw lost sinners to Salvation
and draw Christians closer to Him:
a) The music format will be "Inspirational / Light Adult Contemporary."
b) The message of every song will clearly glorify Christ as Lord.
c) The balance of music to talk will be approximately 90% music.
d) The tempo and style of music will be varied enough to appeal
to many, but will not contain "Rock", "Rap" or other styles
considered controversial or offensive by many adults.
The limited talk programming will focus primarily upon
contemporary issues as they relate to the local communities
and families from a Christian perspective:
a) A local call-in talkshow with a strong emphasis on living the
Christian life in modern times, here in Southern CT.
b) Local church programs will be limited to those which have the
capability to produce high quality recordings which are
Scripturally sound.
c) National programs with strong ministry & family emphasis.
d) Most of the programs will air at night, since we already have
an excellent program-oriented Daytime station in the area.
Public Service Announcements & programs,
including but not limited to:
a) Church & Community related events.
b) Event cancellations.
c) School closings.
d) Local employment opportunities.
e) People looking for work.
f) Etc.
(This info will be on-air and online.)
News & general interest information of benefit to the listeners:
a) Traffic reports for major highways in the area, during the peak
travel times, several times per hour.
b) News, both Local and National, with the emphasis on Local.
Special announcements to inform the public of important matters
they can become involved in:
a) A church or family had a crisis; fire, flood, etc. and needs help.
b) A catastrophe of larger proportions affecting a number of people,
requiring volunteers and other support.
c) A family (or families) made homeless and require help.
d) Other situations requiring volunteers or philanthropic aid.
e) Community clean-up activities.
A companion to isolated listeners, such as:
a) Shut-ins or Convalescents.
b) Prison inmates.
c) Late-shift workers or insomnia sufferers.
WPHA will work WITH the other Christian stations in our area,
NOT AGAINST them.
